A Wisconsin man is facing charges after he allegedly smoked pot, became paranoid, then stabbed his mother, thinking she was there to rape him.
23-year-old Terrell Banks, of Racine, faces one count of attempted first degree intentional homicide, domestic abuse assessments, and one count of mayhem, domestic abuse assessments. Mayhem in Wisconsin courts refers to when a suspect intends to disfigure an area of the head, according to WITI.
According to a criminal complaint, police were called out to a Dollar Tree for a report of a woman who had recently been stabbed by her son inside their home on a nearby street. Police learned the woman had wandered into the store bloodied and looking for help. It was determined the woman had been stabbed multiple times, and she identified her son as the suspect.
