Candon Dahle, a former BYU baseball player, was accused of abusing a girl for five years, starting when she was 7 years old. In court, the victim told him: “You forced me to keep your secret… I sat through your baseball games while screaming inside. You stole my childhood.”

Despite the disturbing testimony, Dahle was sentenced to only 180 days in local jail, 8 years probation, a fine of just $2,600, and community service. He will not have to register as a sex offender under the plea deal. He is 22 now and she is 15
